Ella Van De Velde Fidock

Ella is a Nurse Practitioner (NP) who has been working on the Gold Coast since 2012. Ella holds a Masters of Nurse Practitioner, Masters of Emergency Nursing and a Bachelor of Nursing and works in both public and private practice, with over a decade experience working in the busiest ED within Australia.
What is an NP? "Nurse practitioners combine advanced nursing knowledge and skills with advanced diagnostic reasoning and therapeutic knowledge to provide person-centred care. They can diagnose and manage health consumers with common and complex health conditions. As clinical leaders, they practice across healthcare settings to influence health service delivery and the wider profession.” (ACNP Position Statement- Nurse Practitioner’s Scope of Practice, 2019). NPs are able to assess, diagnose, order imaging and tests, prescribe medications and develop treatment plans.
With expertise in NDIS access and reports, Ella enjoys working with patients to ensure that their support needs are met through clear and concise communication and the development of patient goals to direct therapy and treatment. She is available to support families from initial diagnosis, into the NDIS access process, pre-planning for support needs, attendance at planning meetings and education and recommendations in navigating the complexities of the NDIS space.
Ella is passionate about ensuring that health and disability care is accessible to patients of all ages and specialises in maximising collaboration between treating teams to provide wrap around supports to both patients and families. She works with patients with a range of conditions such as ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, anxiety, depression, developmental disorders, neurological disorders and physical disabilities.
